The Buffalo Bills have been in the running for the Super Bowl for so many years, but something always seems to get in the way. Most of the time, Patrick Mahomes has been that “something.”
Josh Allen has spent the most of his time in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs, who have made a name for themselves as the finest quarterback in the league. Jordan Poyer, a former safety with the Bills, thinks Allen is still superior to Mahomes. In fact, according to him, Allen is currently the top quarterback in the game (via Around the NFL):
“Dude, seven years out here,” remarked Poyer. “I cherished every second of it.” I sincerely appreciate your enabling me to develop both personally and as a player. I had so much fun with everyone—coaches, teammates, and everyone else. I apologize for not being able to complete it, but you have the league’s top quarterback. That might go viral, I know, but that’s okay. Twice a year, I get to see everyone of you. I’m eager. Come down to Miami, you guys. I had the opportunity to visit Orchard Park once more.
Poyer joined the Miami Dolphins, who play in the AFC East Division, this offseason after spending the previous seven years with the Bills. Still, he spent the weekend with his old colleagues, showing up at Micah Hyde’s yearly charity softball game in Buffalo. Allen has received a lot of flak for occasionally being irresponsible with the football and pushing things offensively. He is still one of the game’s greatest, strongest, and most accurate passers in addition to being a devastating ball that is nearly hard to tackle in the open field. Poyer is undoubtedly one of the top five quarterbacks in this game, despite the opinions of some who may not agree with him; all he needs is for the Chiefs to lose to another team in order to advance to the postseason.
