After being deported from the UK in 2022, Boris Becker is “working hard with authorities” to return to Wimbledon.

Boris Becker, who plans to return to Wimbledon in 2025 after being deported from the UK two years ago after serving a prison sentence for concealing £2.5 million in assets and loans, believes the tournament is a part of his life and is ingrained in his DNA. 1985, 1986, and 1989 saw Becker win Wimbledon.

Deported in 2022 after serving a prison sentence, Boris Becker claims he is “working hard with the authorities” to return to the UK and Wimbledon the following year.

Becker, who won three Grand Slam titles at Wimbledon and six other Grand Slam titles between 1985 and 1995, was imprisoned at Wandsworth prison for concealing £2.5 million in assets and loans related to a bankruptcy fraud case.

The 56-year-old German received a two-and-a-half-year term, which he served for eight months.

Although Becker will not be able to visit the UK until October 2024 at the latest, he hopes to return to Wimbledon in 2025 because the competition is “in my DNA.”

As a player, coach, and analyst, Wimbledon has always been my favorite competition. “You can’t compare it; it’s unique,” Becker remarked in Madrid during the Laureus World Sports Awards.

“Being a longtime resident of Wimbledon, I’m putting a lot of effort into preparing all the applications with the authorities so that I can return next year.

We are aiming for 2025. It exists in my life. You can’t dispute that it’s ingrained in my DNA,” Becker continued, adding that he hopes to once more provide commentary on Wimbledon.

After leaving his position as Holger Rune’s head coach at the beginning of February, Becker has not participated in tennis.

He formerly served as Novak Djokovic’s coach from 2014 to 2016.

After defeating Kevin Curren in the Wimbledon singles final in 1985 while just 17 years old, Becker is still the tournament’s youngest men’s singles champion.

Additionally, fans will be able to follow their favorite players and obtain more in-depth information from both Tours through Sky Sports’ social media outlets, Sky Sports News, the Sky Sports App, and skysports.com.
