Roland-Garros DRAMA: Aryna Sabalenka, the world’s No. 1 tennis player, called her “Black Barbie”… but Coco Gauff didn’t scream. She responded, with just 17 calm but sharp words that turned the spotlight on her. The entire internet fell silent. The reporters fell silent. What she said revealed far more about Aryna’s past than years of press coverage could ever reveal. This wasn’t just a comeback.

Dropping from another major snooker competition, Ronnie O’Sullivan cites his “health”

Ronnie O’Sullivan withdrew from the German Masters in order to put his health and well-being first, therefore he won’t be adding to his trophy collection this season in Berlin.

Ronnie O'Sullivan is onboard with the Saudi tournament and Golden Ball concept

Due to his “health and welling,” Ronnie O’Sullivan has withdrawn from yet another snooker competition.

The Rocket has withdrawn from the German Masters in Berlin, which begins on Monday, January 29.

This season, the Rocket has already won the Masters, UK Championship, and World Grand Prix.

O’Sullivan barely made it through his Barnsley World Open qualifier against Alfie Burden earlier this week,

but he did make it to the championship round of that competition.

Midway through the fourth frame, with Burden leading by 61, the seven-time world champion,

who has been granted special permission by World Snooker to wear trainers because of a foot injury, started them off.

He will now take a brief sabbatical from the game, and on February 12 at the Welsh Open, he might play again.

“I just want to let my fans in Germany know that sadly I’ve decided to withdraw from the German Masters next week,”

48-year-old O’Sullivan stated in a statement posted on X and his Instagram.

“I adore the occasion and the German fans, but my health and well-being must come first.

Despite what the tournament victories may suggest, I hope you can realize that this season has been demanding and exhausting for me thus far.

I apologize for being unable to attend, and I hope to see you all soon.

Ronnie O'Sullivan is questioning his snooker future and could soon retire, according to Irish legend Ken Doherty

Barry Pinches, who will take on Julien Leclercq in a first-round match on Monday afternoon,

has taken O’Sullivan’s spot in the draw. O’Sullivan has withdrew from competitions before this season.

In December, he was absent from the Scottish Open as well, citing health issues.

Big names other than The Rocket are also absent from the competition. Hossein Vafaei withdrew owing to problems with his visa.

On Monday, he was scheduled to take on Elliot Slessor in the second round. Slessor will now be eliminated from the final 32.
