Many have been taken aback by the Los Angeles Lakers’ season-opening performance. Many had doubted going into the season if they would even have enough left to secure a postseason berth. They should continue to perform in this manner if they can. At 10-5, the Lakers are currently in fourth place in the Western Conference.
While LeBron James, who is only one month away from turning forty, continues to average twenty-four points per night, Anthony Davis is playing at an MVP level. The Lakers also seem to have a Rookie of the Year frontrunner in the form of Dalton Knetch, who is starting to establish himself as a starter already.
Everything seems to be falling in place for the Lakers. They just need a bit more to be considered genuine contenders. Could that come in the form of a Chicago Bulls veteran?
The Lakers have recently been strongly associated with Zach LaVine. However, Nikola Vucevic, a colleague of his from the Bulls, can also be a viable choice. Vucevic has had an incredible season debut. He is shooting a career-high 57.7% from the field and 46.1% from three-point range, averaging 20.2 points and 9.8 rebounds.py
