After 31 incredible years on Fox NFL Sunday, Jimmy Johnson has announced his retirement. While he may be known to some as a TV analyst, in Dallas-Fort Worth, he’ll always be remembered as the mastermind behind the Cowboys’ three championships in the 1990s.
Johnson’s coaching legacy is undeniable. He took the Cowboys from a 1-15 season in 1989 to back-to-back Super Bowl wins in 1992-93. His impact on the team was immense, and fans still credit him for building that championship roster.
After a highly publicized feud with Jerry Jones, Johnson left the Cowboys i 1994. However, the two eventually made amends, and Johnson was inducted into the Cowboys’ Ring of Honor in 2023.
As he retires from broadcasting, Johnson reflected on his time at Fox, saying it was “probably the most fun I’ve ever had in my career.” He’ll surely be missed by fans and his colleagues alike.”
