Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett has announced his retirement from participating in future Pro Bowl Games. This decision follows an incident during the Pro Bowl in February 2023, where Garrett dislocated his toe while competing in the Gridiron Gauntlet obstacle course.
Reflecting on the event, Garrett expressed frustration with the activities, stating, “Jumping over walls and fences … doesn’t make sense to me.” He further mentioned that his toe remains a “nagging” issue but anticipates it won’t affect his performance in the upcoming season.
Despite this decision, Garrett remains committed to his NFL career with the Cleveland Browns. He has previously expressed his desire to end his career with the team, stating, “I want to be a Cleveland Brown. I want to play here. I want to end my career here.”
As of now, there is no indication that Garrett plans to retire from professional football entirely. He continues to be a pivotal player for the Browns, contributing significantly to their defensive lineup.
