New Neil Peart Memorial Fundraising Campaign Launched for 2025
December 16, 2024 – Toronto, Canada – A new fundraising initiative has been announced to honor the legacy of Rush’s legendary drummer, Neil Peart. Following the success of previous campaigns, the Rush fan community and family members have launched a new fundraising drive to continue the memorial project at Lakeside Park, a location dear to Peart’s heart.
The goal of this new campaign is to raise an additional $750,000 to complete the next phase of the memorial, which includes an interactive exhibit showcasing Peart’s legendary drumming career and his influence on rock music worldwide. The memorial is being designed with input from Peart’s family, as well as the band’s surviving members, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson.
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the support of the Rush fanbase, and this new phase of the memorial will truly honor Neil’s spirit,” said Lee. “It’s a tribute not only to his musical contributions but to his incredible character and the profound impact he had on so many people’s lives.”
Fans who contribute to the campaign will receive exclusive commemorative items, including limited-edition vinyls, photographs, and even a chance to attend a private event at the memorial’s unveiling in 2025.
The official website for the fundraising campaign has launched, allowing fans to donate directly and learn more about the memorial’s progress.
