Federer has always been a passionate husband and father. He expressed great feelings about his retirement, saying, “I loved rehab because it was something new in my life. It was a new challenge. It’s literally one step or one movement. And so it is in life now. I mean: new space, navigating this new life, with new projects, especially with my children. And I love this time. Although I said in interviews last year that I’m never stressed.
He added: “But it wasn’t about retirement. It was just taking care of my kids with my wife and just trying to help them get through school and all the demands.. And you care so much as a parent that I almost, I don’t want to say I want it too much. Not at all. I feel that I am a very humble person. But I would just wake up and go, okay: I have to be there. I have to help them.”
