Following Palace’s victory, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino criticizes two of his own players.
Players battling for playing time have been urged by Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino to put in more “fight.”

Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, has informed Levi Colwill and Noni Madueke that he needs more “fight” from them both. The Argentine believes his squad plays too gently in Premier League games, which has left him unhappy.

On Wednesday night, Madueke scored the game-winning penalty in a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace after coming off the bench. The head coach has ordered the winger to quit whining and strive for his spot after he has battled to get into the game this season.

Madueke has played in just 148 Premier League minutes so far this season, and Pochettino publicly chastised the 21-year-old for his behavior earlier in the campaign. But in a brief cameo versus Palace, Madueke scored the game-winning penalty in the 89th minute after coming on as an 80th-minute substitute.

Chelsea, with an average age of little over 23, fielded their youngest-ever Premier League starting eleven. Although Pochettino has admitted to having an inexperienced side, he still wants his starlets to put forth more effort.

“I was talking to Madueke and Colwill, and we need to realize that we are Chelsea and have a great history,” Pochettino said in an Amazon Prime video. It is important to triumph. Our players are quite good. However, you must battle.

    .

“You have to fight because we’re playing Palace. We occasionally fail to notice this quality quite as much. A team will always have ups and downs, but we must acknowledge that the Premier League is a higher level.

“In order to go and fight, we need an effect from the bench. The players must come off the bench; they are not permitted to grumble and declare, “Oh, I wish I had more playing time.”

Even though Chelsea won at Stamford Bridge for the third straight game, Pochettino was not happy with some parts of Chelsea’s performance versus Palace. Their build-up play, in his opinion, was frequently too slow, which gave the South Londoners time to reorganize and regain possession.

“We didn’t play free in every single action,” he continued. The passes were made too slowly, and the players were pondering too much. We allowed Palace to get a chance to retrieve the ball.
